DAVORIN OZICH YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP

The Croatian Cultural Society is pleased to announce that the inaugural Davorin Ozich Croatian Youth Scholarship has been approved by the members at the latest quarterly meeting.

The committee has long felt the CCS needs to attract and reward our youth to be engaged in our society. We would like our youth to be more invested in our club; rewarding and acknowledging our young achievers as Croatian New Zealanders - whether it is in their academic, sporting, cultural or business endeavours.

The scholarship has been named in honour of our founding President, Davorin Ozich.  Davorin was a long-time campaigner for the youth of our club.  Our youth are our biggest asset, and the lifeline of the club continues through them. Our young people are competing on the world stage in these four categories, and it is a wonderful opportunity for our society to support them in their endeavours. We see this as another branch to encourage our youth to connect with their culture and their society.

Each of the annual four scholarships will be to the value of NZD $2500.00 over the four categories. The recipients of the scholarships will be presented at the Croatian Cultural Society’s annual Dan Drzavnosti Celebrations. Recipients would have a responsibility to report back to the Executive Committee within 12 months of receiving their scholarship and how the funds assisted them in their endeavours. This will form part of the following years Dan Drzavnosti celebrations. The recipients would be expected to be, and be considered as, youth ambassadors to the society and role models to the younger generations of the club.

There is also an opportunity for our members to sponsor a specific category and have the naming right for that category for that year.  If you would like more information about donating to the Youth Scholarship please contact Antony Arnerich aa@vaco.co.nz 021833447.

We encourage all of our eligible youth members to apply!
