The Davorin Ozich Youth Scholarship

The Davorin Ozich Youth Scholarship has been named in honour of our founding President, Davorin Ozich.  Davorin was a long-time campaigner for the youth of our club.  Our youth are our biggest asset, and the lifeline of the club continues through them. The scholarship represents an opportunity for our society to support our young people in their endeavours, and to encourage our youth to connect with their culture and their society.

There are four categories of scholarships available, up to the value of NZD $2,500 each. The recipients of the scholarships will be presented at the Croatian Cultural Society’s annual Dan Državnosti celebrations. Recipients have a responsibility to report back to the Executive Committee within 12 months of receiving their scholarship and how the funds assisted them in their endeavours, and their experience will be shared at the following year's Dan Državnosti event. The recipients would be expected to be, and be considered as, youth ambassadors to the society and role models to the younger generations of the club.

Would you like to support our youth by sponsoring a scholarship category?

We invite our members to sponsor a specific category and have the naming right for that category for that year (either as a business or as an individual).  If you would like more information about donating to the Youth Scholarship please contact Antony Arnerich: aa@vaco.co.nz 021 833 447.
